One of the major groups of today's commonly used geophysical methods is the so-called force-geophysical surveys. Their goal is to define the natural gravitational and magnetic field of the Earth and to interpret the results; on the one hand, to understand the global processes of the Earth, and on the other hand to detect and delimit regional and local inhomogeneity. Some of the geophysical measurements are relative measurements, so we do not observe absolute field strength, but the differences in field strength between some measuring points, thus the results are usually represented on so-called anomaly (deviation) maps or sections. From a relative measurement database (as part of a calibration that targets the production of absolute values or as part of a modeling process), the measured values and the differences between the theoretical values (calculated from a model, for instance, a homogeneous body) can be determined. The measured data is always interpreted by mathematical modeling, so it means that we assign a mathematical description of a simplified geological environment, and the corresponding physical parameters of which the closest possible values to the measured data at the measurement points with calculations based on physical laws can be provided.
A group of geo-electric metrics is a distinct group of natural electromagnetic waves, natural potential differences due to geochemical reasons, voltage differences generated by DC excitation, and electromagnetic field measurements from a variety of alternating current excitations. Depending on the method used, the geo-electric results are represented by different types of gauges and anomaly maps, and they reflect the different electrical parameters of the rocks, the specific resistances and the di-electric constant differences.
